Festivals in Serbia are the best way to get to know the population, music, culture, tradition, gastronomy of a country. Throughout the year, various festivals are held in Serbia, which gather thousands of people, from the country and abroad. At music festivals, all types of music are listened to, from traditional to jazz, pop, rock, and classical. Among them is Dragačevo Trumpet Festival in Guča, EXIT festival in Novi Sad, Beer Fest in Belgrade, and Nišville Jazz Festival in Niš. At film and theater festivals, in the presence of a large audience and prominent authors, you can watch films and plays from all over the world. Numerous film festivals that are visited every year by some of the biggest stars of world cinema are FEST, Kustendorf, Author’s Film Festival, European Film Festival in Palić… World-renowned theater festivals are Bitef – Belgrade International Theater Festival and Belef – Belgrade Summer Festival. Gourmets will find their place at one of the gastronomic festivals where you can try numerous specialties characteristic of a certain region. Particularly tempting for tasting and enjoyment are Leskovačka roštiljijda, Sremska kulenijada, Banica Days in Bela Palanka, Pršutijada in the village of Mačkat, Crack Festival in Valjevo, Apatin Fishermen’s Evenings. Serbia is a country with a long tradition of making wine. Numerous festivals are dedicated to this exceptional drink, such as the Oplenac grape harvest, the Karlovac grape harvest, the Smederevo autumn, the grape harvest days in Vršac, and the Župa harvest. Numerous smaller local festivals and events are held in Serbia, which present the tradition of Serbia in an original and unique way. Precisely because of that, tourists are increasingly opting for such events because they can experience something completely different and specific only for the area of Serbia.
