Natural beauties are one of the greatest treasures of Serbia. The unique nature, its beauties, and peculiarities are internationally recognized, so Serbia is ranked among the 159 centers of world biological diversity. Natural beauties with specific natural features are preserved, unique, rare, special units protected by law through nature reserves. There are 75 nature reserves in Serbia, most of them special and strict. One of the last originally preserved wetlands and the only location in Serbia where old breeds of animals are kept in the special nature reserve Zasavica. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Serbia is marked by the Bačko Podunavlje and the Golija Mountain, unique sites filled with diverse flora and fauna.
