The unique nature, its beauties, and peculiarities are internationally recognized, so Serbia is ranked among the 159 centers of world biological diversity. Fairytale landscapes, rare natural phenomena, plant and animal species make you forget about everyday life for a moment and relax by the rivers and mountains, numerous waterfalls, canyons and gorges, caves … Nature in Serbia, it can be said, was especially inspired, such as the magnificent Lazarus canyon, inexplicable stone figures of the Devil’s Town, bridges and gates on the river Vratna, the spring of Mlava and Krupajsko spring, the waterfalls of Sopotnica, the winding meanders of the river Uvac, where the lord of the sky Beloglavi Sup, incredible sand dunes of Delibat sand from the last European deserts and many other natural monuments of Serbia that represent natural wholes of exceptional importance. Natural beauties with specific natural features are preserved, unique, rare, special units protected by law through nature reserves. There are 75 nature reserves in Serbia, most of them special and strict. One of the last originally preserved wetlands and the only location in Serbia where old breeds of animals are kept in the special nature reserve Zasavica. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Serbia is marked by the Bačko Podunavlje and the Golija Mountain, unique sites filled with diverse flora and fauna. Attractive, spacious, and mysterious caves of Serbia are unavoidable destinations and due to their untouched nature and specific origin, they can be classified in the group of natural beauties of Serbia.
